Executive Chef Don Splain is back in the kitchen. The former chef of The Founders Bistro in North Naples has ascended to the Treehouse Rooftop Lounge, which relaunched last Thursday at Bell Tower Shops in south Fort Myers. Splain also will be nurturing Roots Restaurant as the executive chef of the ground-floor venue opening next month beneath Treehouse in a rebranded restaurant, bar and lounge space that formerly was Society and The Roots of Society. Get a taste of what is to come at Treehouse, the open-air, live entertainment destination where Splain is already serving up small plates such as tacos, sliders and Gulf Coast lobster mac-n-cheese. Treehouse, 13499 Bell Tower Drive, Suite E-518, is open 4 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
