A year after the merger of BB&T and SunTrust banks formed Truist Financial Corp., some of the branch offices recently have permanently closed. Although the merged banks have yet to be rebranded, Truist had plans in December and January to shutter more than 100 branches in the southeastern United States to save costs. Many of the closed branches shared redundant coverage areas. In North Naples, for instance, a couple of branches recently closed and merged with bank offices nearby. B&BT’s branch at 15285 Collier Blvd. on the corner of Immokalee Road in the Shoppes of Pebblebrooke closed and merged with the SunTrust office at 15225 Collier Blvd. in the neighboring Pebblebrooke Center.
