Workplace by Facebook is seeking to change internal office communication, Fortune reports. The product, which publicly launched Monday, operates separately from the main social media network and users can only access it through their company’s IT systems. Personal accounts are not used in the office version.
The product has some familiar applications, including status updates, newsfeeds and group chats, but content should focus on work-specific topics like developing projects and customer service feedback.
The goal is to streamline communication between staff members of all levels in a company. The service costs employers $1 to $3 per month to use, Fortune says. Price depends on the number of staff members using the program.
