Australian retailer Zimmermann launched a boutique Saturday at Waterside Shops in Naples, expanding its presence in the United States.

The Naples store is the second of four Zimmermann stores planned in Florida. The luxury fashion brand opened its first Florida store in Bal Harbour in 2017 and plans to launch two more next month in Miami and Tampa, giving it 16 stores in the United StatesFounded in Sydney by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann in 1991, the brand is known for its sophisticated femininity, passion for detail and love of color and print in its resort and ready-to-wear clothing and accessories.

The 1,356-square-foot Waterside store was designed by Australian interior designer Studio McQualter with an exterior painted a green hue that has become the brand’s signature look. Zimmermann’s Naples store steps out with a vacation motif and opens with the company’s spring and summer swimwear collections.

“We thought it would be great to incorporate a vacation theme into the Naples store – it’s simple, cool and has a sense of journey,” said Nicky Zimmermann, creative director and co-founder. “It was important to us that the store fitted naturally into the neighborhood but that it also had little Australian touches. There are artworks by Australian artists Bridie Gillman, Emily Ferretti and Amy French, which I just love, and an emphatic green storefront, which is very Zimmermann.”

A series of intimate rooms lead to an elevated lounge area with high-coved ceilings that bounce light from a mix of vintage lighting, including a rare 1950’s Bruno Gatta wall light, Ettore Sottsass‘ Callimaco and Mario Bottas’ Shogun floor lamps and 1970’s Charlotte Perriand sconces. A custom pendant designed by Studio McQualter and made by Anna Charlesworth of Australia hangs in the lounge to accentuate the ceiling’s height.

In addition to the aforementioned Australian artists, the store’s artwork collection includes a collage by Laith McGregor and a custom vase by ceramicist Nori Lindsay. Halo illuminated mirrors, a Vico Magistretti chair and an African carved timber table are part of the vintage furniture selection.

Zimmermann Naples is in Suite G-14, the former Michael Kors space next door to the new Santa Fe Cafe, at the upscale open-air retail center at 5415 Tamiami Trail N.  Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
