Hundreds of thousands of Floridians, the majority of them in the hospitality industry, have filed for unemployment since the COVID-19 outbreak. Many people trying to file for unemployment benefits can’t do so because of trouble with the phone line and website for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The state is hiring more people to help, Lt. Gov. Jeanette Núñez told WINK News in an exclusive interview.
