Allegiant Travel Co. expects the budget for its Sunseeker Resort, slated to open in spring 2023, to come in more than $100 million than originally projected. The Las Vegas-based company updated its budget to $618 million to construct the waterfront resort on Charlotte Harbor, citing inflationary pressures on materials as well as supply chain delays, according to its first-quarter earnings report. Originally expected to cost $510 million, construction restarted on the Port Charlotte resort in July 2021 after being halted for nearly 15 months by the COVID-19 pandemic. As of March 31, $275 million has been spent on construction, with $87 million funded by debt and the remaining $188 million funded by Allegiant.
