Fort Myers City Council unanimously approved Monday a smoking ban in city-owned parks. Smoking is defined by Council as inhaling, exhaling, burning, carrying or possessing any lighted tobacco product, including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco and any other lighted tobacco product, with the exception of unfiltered cigars. The ordinance also prohibits vapes and electronic cigarettes. Violations are punishable by a $100 civil fine.
