Habitat for Humanity of Collier County celebrated a wall-raising ceremony for its Majestic Place community in East Naples and announced a $5 million donation — the largest single gift in the organization’s history. The donation will allow the nonprofit to deal with escalating costs of construction and adjust its strategies in securing more land at current prices, raising more funds and calling on the community to be part of the work. Majestic Place will be built on 23 acres and include 109 single-family homes off U.S. 41 with a private entrance through Habitat’s Regal Acres neighborhood. Majestic Place homeowners will undergo a thorough approval process prior to purchase. Families are selected based on need, ability to repay and willingness to partner.
