Charlotte County Public Schools broke ground this week on a state-of-the-art aviation hangar at Charlotte High School, 1250 Cooper St. in Punta Gorda. This facility will serve as a hub for the district’s aviation program, providing students with hands-on training in aeronautics and aviation maintenance to prepare them for careers in the industry. The new hangar will measure 80 feet by 110 feet, covering a total of 8,800 square feet, and will be equipped with industry-standard tools and technology to support student learning and skill development. The aviation program at Charlotte High is one of several new career and technical education initiatives designed to support local and statewide workforce needs.
