The Lee Board of County Commissioners approved an agreement with Lee Health to expand the Community Paramedicine Program, now piloting at Cape Coral Hospital. The program provides in-home care for nonemergent patients, aiming to reduce emergency room visits and ambulance use. A team of EMTs, paramedics, case managers and social workers helps patients at risk of hospital readmission, falls or with limited caregiver support. By delivering follow-up care at home, the program supports recovery and access to services. Lee Health officials said it is expected to expand beyond Cape Coral.
