City residents will see their property taxes rise slightly next year if Naples City Council keeps its millage rate at 1.23 mills.
A property owner who is paying $2,900.63 this year would pay $2,969.44 next year. The millage rate is the amount of property tax charged per $1,000 of taxable property value.
Council voted unanimously Sept. 3 to keep its current millage rate, a move expected to generate more than $2.36 million in additional revenue. City Manager Gary Young said the funds will help cover rising operating costs, maintain current service levels and preserve reserves for future economic conditions.
The rate also will allow the city to generate funds for increased staff salaries and benefits and additional police officers to boost the Naples Police Department’s level of service.
No residents or businesses spoke during the city’s first public hearing on its 2025-26 fiscal year budget. This year’s $208.8 million budget will increase to $240.06 million on Oct. 1, the start of the fiscal year — an increase of $31.3 million.

A city chart shows how much of each property tax dollar goes to the City of Naples, Collier County, schools and other services.
The presentation showed the increase also allows the city to budget a larger share of telecommunication-services taxes in its streets fund to support its continued emphasis on street repaving and other infrastructure.
The rollback rate was set at 1.1658, the ad valorem tax rate that will bring Naples the same amount of tax money as last year, excluding the value of new construction. A millage rate over the rollback rate is considered a tax increase.
Council also unanimously adopted the 2025-26 fiscal year budget and millage rates for two taxing districts, East Naples Bay, whose budget was set at $406,200, with a 0.5 millage rate, and Moorings Bay, whose budget was set at $116,285, with a 0.0125 millage rate.
The second and final budget hearing will take place at 5:05 p.m. Sept. 22 in City Council Chambers, 735 Eighth St. S.
