A Bit of Bailey’s, operated by the same family behind Bailey’s General Store, opened on Sanibel nearly three years after Hurricane Ian destroyed the original store. The new store, located on Rabbit Road, features an elevated storefront and updated layout, marking a fresh chapter for the Johnson family’s long history of serving the island. Richard Johnson said reopening reflects the support of both family and community, noting that Bailey’s has always been about more than groceries. It has been about providing normalcy and connection. The family expects to break ground on the original Bailey’s General Store later this year, WINK News reports.
