Naples-based Avow Kids received a $5,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation to support free grief and loss services for children and teens across Southwest Florida. The nonprofit program serves more than 500 children annually, ages 5 to 17, who are coping with the death of a loved one, divorce, relocation or other major life changes. Services include individual and group counseling, camps, events and creative therapies designed to help children develop coping skills. Avow Kids relies entirely on philanthropic funding to provide its services at no cost to families.
