Bank of the Islands employees will join more than 400 volunteers Sept. 21 for the Coastal Cleanup on Sanibel and Captiva beaches.

Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands will participate in the Coastal Cleanup on Sept. 21 in partnership with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation. The bank will field a team of volunteers to join more than 400 participants cleaning beaches on Sanibel and Captiva. Last year’s cleanup removed 1,180 pounds of trash and fishing debris from local shorelines. The annual event is part of the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, which has engaged 18 million volunteers worldwide to collect more than 380 million pounds of trash. SCCF coordinates local efforts with Keep Lee County Beautiful to support the long-term health of Southwest Florida’s coastal ecosystems.
