The Bayshore School in North Fort Myers will break ground at 9 a.m. Oct. 3 on a new $50 million classroom building that will expand the campus to a K-8. The project will add space for 600 middle school students, including 22 classrooms and a new gymnasium, with completion expected in fall 2026. Bayshore, 17050 Williams Road, began its transition to K-8 after Lee County School Board approval in 2024, adding sixth grade last year and seventh grade this year. Eighth grade will begin in 2026, with portables used until the new building is ready. The expansion is funded by the half-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2018.
