Downtown Bonita Springs is getting a new attraction with the completion of a splash pad at Banyan Square, 27381 Old 41 Road, near Riverside Park. Built by Wright Construction Group, the fountain features 74 lights and nozzles that send water up to six feet during daytime play and 20 feet during evening shows. Colored lighting and music will accompany nighttime displays, with additional lights illuminating nearby banyan and oak trees. Four speakers surround the fountain, which uses a filtration and chlorination system similar to those in swimming pools. A public ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29.
