Cape Coral City Council approved a settlement and concessionaire agreement with Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill for a new waterfront restaurant at the Yacht Club Community Park.

Cape Coral City Council members approved a settlement and concessionaire agreement with the owners of Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill for the construction, management and operation of the planned waterfront restaurant in the Yacht Club Community Park, 5819 Driftwood Parkway. It includes a 30-year term at $7,000 per month for Boathouse on the property after construction is complete. The city will contribute $1 million toward restaurant construction and the installation of a fuel facility, with Boathouse reimbursing 50% over the agreement term. The operation will include retail items such as beach sundries, bait and tackle and fuel and equipment rental with a 20% discount for Cape Coral residents. It is set to be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with the adjoining beach open from sunrise to sunset. Demolition of the old fire-damaged Boathouse structure is set to begin in late September.
