A “For Lease” sign stands outside McCollum Hall, where the Fort Myers CRA plans to bring the long-delayed restoration project in-house.

Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency, at its meeting Sept. 17, approved a proposal from Parker Mudgett Smith Architects to provide architectural services, including master planning and architectural programming, for the redevelopment of McCollum Hall for $42,600. The local architectural firm is set to collaborate with the CRA in supporting the revival of McCollum after staff cut ties with developer Alexander Goshen in August. The first phase of McCollum development with Parker Mudgett Smith is expected to span six months and include evaluating prior plans, conducting community listening sessions and preparing a final master plan document and cost estimate. “We are beyond excited about the opportunity to work with the CRA on McCollum Hall again and are ready to get started,” wrote Jeffrey Mudgett in a letter to the CRA dated Sept. 10.
