Florida drivers are seeing modest relief on auto insurance rates in 2026, though premiums remain well above the national average.

Auto insurance premiums in Florida are expected to decline slightly in 2026, but drivers will continue to face some of the highest costs in the nation. According to ValuePenguin’s State of Auto Insurance 2026 report, Florida insurers are lowering rates by an average of 2.81% this year, following sharp increases from 2022 through 2025. Even with the decrease, the average cost of full-coverage auto insurance in Florida is projected to reach $311 per month, ranking third highest in the country and about 50% above the national average of $208. Nationally, rates are expected to rise just 0.67% in 2026, the smallest year-over-year increase since before inflation drove premiums sharply higher.
