A driver fills up at a gas station in South Florida.

Florida's average price for regular gasoline climbed 16 cents over the past week as tensions in the Middle East pushed oil prices higher, AAA data shows. As of June 29, the statewide average stood at $3.78 per gallon, up from $3.62 a week earlier. Despite the increase, prices remain 38 cents lower than a month ago and more than $1 below the record high of $4.89 per gallon set in June 2022. The national average was $3.86 per gallon June 29. Analysts said recent price increases were driven by geopolitical uncertainty affecting crude oil markets, although prices have moderated from their recent peak. In Southwest Florida on June 29, Charlotte County had the lowest price per gallon at $3.72, followed by Lee County ($3.78) and Collier County ($3.88).
