Medical marijuana dispensaries opening in former bank branches

Florida’s medical marijuana market has grown to more than 941,000 registered patients as the state’s network of dispensary locations continues to expand, according to the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use.

Florida’s medical marijuana market is approaching 1 million registered patients, although growth has slowed as the state’s dispensary network continues expanding, according to the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use. Florida had 941,650 registered patients in September, up 1.8% from 924,797 a year earlier. The number of dispensary locations increased 5% during the same period, from 734 to 771. State data show Trulieve operates 170 locations, followed by MÜV with 86 and Curaleaf with 77. Florida voters approved medical marijuana in 2016, and state law ties the issuance of additional Medical Marijuana Treatment Center licenses to growth in the number of registered patients.
