Participants listen intently during a workforce training session, part of Florida’s continued push to build a skilled talent pipeline and prepare residents for high-demand careers.

Florida was ranked No. 1 in the nation for attracting and developing a skilled workforce for the third consecutive year, according to the 2024 Lightcast Talent Attraction Scorecard. The scorecard evaluates states and metro areas on job growth, education attainment, regional competitiveness and migration data, measuring how well they attract and develop skilled workers. Florida earned top marks for overall job growth and competitive effect, ranked second for skilled job growth and third for high-earning job growth. The state also placed seven of the nation’s top 10 large metropolitan areas, including Naples-Marco Island at No. 10, and four of the top 10 mid-sized MSAs, including Punta Gorda at No. 5.
