Florida gas prices remained relatively steady Feb. 23, with the statewide average for regular unleaded at $2.87 per gallon, according to AAA data. The price was down slightly from $2.88 a day earlier and below the national average of $2.94 per gallon. Florida’s average price was $2.86 a week ago and $2.89 a month ago, while drivers paid $3.10 per gallon a year earlier. Average prices for mid-grade gasoline stood at $3.33, premium at $3.66 and diesel at $3.60. In Southwest Florida, Charlotte County had the lowest average price at $2.84, followed by Lee County ($2.86) and Collier County ($2.96).
