World-renowned architect Kyle Phillips will design a new high-end, golf-only private club in Estero on the site of the former Old Corkscrew Golf Club, 17320 Corkscrew Road. The Hoffmann Family of Companies acquired Old Corkscrew and its adjacent cottages in 2022 for $19 million, adding to its growing golf portfolio that includes Naples’ exclusive Old Collier Golf Club, purchased in 2021. Originally established in 2007, Old Corkscrew featured a Jack Nicklaus Signature course and spanned 275 wooded acres in unincorporated Lee County. The new course, expected to measure 7,100 yards with a par of 71, will reflect Phillips’ signature heathland style. Permitting is underway, and a late 2027 opening is targeted.
