Lee County approves $7M Alva EMS station

The Lee Board of County Commissioners approved a $163,200 project to add bicycle and golf cart parking and other amenities at the former Seafarer’s Mall property on Fort Myers Beach.

Lee County commissioners approved a $163,200 project to add paid bicycle and golf cart parking at the former Seafarer’s Mall property, 1113 Estero Blvd. on Fort Myers Beach. Plans call for parking for up to 56 bicycles and 29 golf carts, a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Center and a drinking fountain. The project will use $71,950 in tourist tax reserves, $56,250 from the county’s general fund and $35,000 from the Sheriff’s Office. Lee County acquired the property in 2010 with the land that became neighboring Crescent Beach Family Park. The former mall was demolished in 2011. A construction timeline remains undetermined.
