New Lee County school NNN Front rendering.png

A rendering shows the design for the new high school in Alva, one of two new campuses the School District of Lee County plans to open to help ease overcrowding in East Region schools.

The School District of Lee County is accepting naming suggestions for two new schools — a high school in Alva and an elementary school in Lehigh Acres. Supported by the half-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2018, both campuses will help relieve overcrowding in East Region schools. The new high school at 21700 Tuckahoe Road in Alva is scheduled to open in August 2027 with a capacity of 2,000 students and academies in agri-technology and animal husbandry. The new elementary school at 17250 State Road 82 in Lehigh Acres will open temporarily in 2026 and move into its new building in 2028. Name submissions are open on the district website through Oct. 24. To suggest a name for the new high school in Alva, click here.
