The Foundation of the Collier County Medical Society awarded its 2026 Dr. William and Nancy Lascheid Memorial Scholarship to Kaitlyn Barnes, a Barron Collier High School graduate and medical student at the Florida State University College of Medicine. The $15,000 scholarship recognizes Florida medical students who demonstrate exceptional community service. Barnes, a member of FSU's Class of 2028, has volunteered with hospitals, hospice organizations, animal welfare groups and student mentoring programs while serving in multiple leadership roles. The scholarship honors the founders of Naples' Neighborhood Health Clinic and supports future physicians committed to serving their communities.
