The city of Naples' $86.2 million Beach Stormwater Outfall Improvement Project is ahead of schedule, with completion expected in May 2027, one month before its contractual deadline. The project includes two pump stations, underground drainage improvements and 3,200 feet of offshore outfall pipes. Improvements will serve approximately 266 acres west of U.S. 41, generally between Seventh Avenue North and Third Avenue South, including neighborhoods along Gulf Shore Boulevard North. The new system is designed to handle heavier rainfall and reduce flooding while allowing the city to remove eight existing stormwater discharge pipes from Naples beaches. Kiewit Infrastructure South is the contractor. Construction began in October 2024, WINK News reports.
