Its updated design features smaller components and built-in tensioning handles intended to make surgical procedures less invasive.
Naples-based medical device manufacturer Arthrex won the Florida Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Florida competition with its TightRope PRO implant. Manufactured in Collier County, the device helps surgeons stabilize the tibia and fibula, the two lower-leg bones, after ligament damage from a high-ankle sprain. It uses strong sutures and small metal buttons to hold the bones in position during healing, rather than a traditional rigid screw. The updated design features smaller implants and built-in tensioning handles that allow surgeons to use smaller drill holes. Arthrex defeated Northrop Grumman's E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft in the final round.
