Maria Della Rocca, left, and Peter Della Rocca, co-founders of Naples-based Della Rocca Foods, display jars of their family's marinara sauce, now sold at six Southwest Florida locations.
The owners of Naples restaurant Parmesan Pete’s have launched a packaged food business, bringing their signature marinara sauce to six Southwest Florida retail locations. Peter and Maria Della Rocca founded Naples-based Della Rocca Foods to commercialize a family recipe dating to 1894. The sauce is available at Parmesan Pete’s, Mikkelsen’s Pastry Shop, Neapolitan Gourmet Italian Market and Deli, Pansardo Italian Food Specialists, Salon Teez and Mario’s Meat Market and Deli in Fort Myers. The company also began selling at The Artisan Market of Naples on Oct. 8. Della Rocca Foods plans to expand distribution to regional specialty markets and select grocery stores over the next six to 12 months as production increases.
