Opera Naples received a $55,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation to support its Harmony Hub summer camp and after-school arts education programs. The free program serves eligible elementary and middle school students from nearby Title I schools, including Shadowlawn Elementary, Avalon Elementary and East Naples Middle School. Classes are held at the Wang Opera Center, 2408 Linwood Ave. in East Naples, where students receive instruction in music, drama and performance. The grant will fund assistant teachers, music lab expansions and renovations, and need-based scholarships. Harmony Hub builds on Opera Naples’ youth education programs, which have provided music enrichment for more than 15 years.
