A report finds Southwest Florida’s technology sector is expanding rapidly, with employment in core tech industries growing 37.8% since 2019. The 2025 SWFL Tech Pulse report, produced by SWFL Tech in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University, CareerSource Southwest Florida and the Lee County Economic Development Office, shows rising demand for roles such as software developers, cybersecurity analysts and data specialists. Average tech wages now exceed $122,000, nearly double the regional average. The report also notes nearly 8,000 individuals completed tech-related programs in 2025, though only about 26% remained in the region for work. Despite strong momentum, challenges include talent retention, limited startup activity and the need for stronger coordination across education, workforce and industry partners.
