Thirteen graduating high school seniors from Lee County were awarded $5,000 scholarships to pursue trade and technical careers, thanks to a partnership between The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and the Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation. Since its founding in 2012, the Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation has awarded nearly $10 million in grants, including more than $1 million in scholarships. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools works with business and community leaders to enhance the quality of public education for students and educators. It administers the vocational scholarship program funded by the SWCF.

The 2025 scholarship recipients include: 

Bonita Springs High School 

Hannah Dejesus – Fort Myers Technical College, Marine Tech 

Sophia Marquez – Fort Myers Technical College, Welding 

Juan Martinez – Fort Myers Technical College, HVAC 

Yacoub Youssef – Fort Myers Technical College, Marine Technician 

Juan Torres-Torres – Fort Myers Technical College, Master Automotive 

Estero High School 

Haleigh Clavelin – Cape Coral Technical College, Veterinary 

Kenneth Solis Mendoza – Fort Myers Technical College, Welding/Auto Rebuilding 

Sebastian Lucia – Fort Myers Technical College, Electronics 

Rayne Woods – Universal Technical Institute, Automotive 

South Fort Myers High School 

Abigaelle Charles – Fort Myers Technical College, Medical Services 

Aiden Ebert – Fort Myers Technical College, Welding or HVAC 

Thomas Patricca – Fort Myers Technical College, Welding Technology 

Nicolas Steed – Fort Myers Technical College, Welding Technology
