City of Cape Coral is accepting applications for the 2025 Citizen’s Academy, an program designed to give residents an in-depth look at their local government. The 2025 session runs from Feb. 25 through April 16, with weekly classes on Tuesdays. The final class and graduation will take place on Wednesday, April 16. Highlights include tours of city facilities and staff interactions, understanding complex decision-making processes and insights into the complexities of running one of Florida’s largest cities. Participants will explore city departments, including the police department, City Hall, fire services and more. Sessions are held one day per week for up to eight hours each day, and the entire academy lasts eight weeks. Applications and more information are available on the city’s website.
