Cape Coral City Council unanimously approved Aug. 16 the Victory Park Community Development District. The site is about 137 acres bounded by Northeast 24th Avenue and Corbett Road. The proposed development includes a 125-room hotel, 308 garden–style apartments, 112 townhouses and 228,000 square feet of post-secondary education. On top of that, 568,040 square feet of commercial/office use, 25,800 square feet of retail and 264,000 square feet of light industrial is part of the proposed development. The proposed infrastructure improvements for the district are estimated to cost $37 million and will likely be funded through the district’s issuance of long-term bond debt.
