Fort Myers-based Cigent appointed Brett Hansen as its new CEO as the cybersecurity firm expands its product line to meet rising defense sector demand. Hansen, who previously served as chief operating officer, brings experience from Dell Technologies and growth-stage SaaS firms. The company also introduced a Software Full Drive Encryption solution with AES-256-bit protection, built to meet NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified Data-at-Rest standards. The product is currently undergoing certification and offers robust boot integrity, multifactor authentication and large-scale manageability. Cigent’s technologies safeguard sensitive data on edge devices used in military and industrial settings, and the firm has seen consecutive quarters of strong growth.
