City of Cape Coral will host its annual Hurricane Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 31 at Mercola Market, 125 SW Third Place. This free event offers residents a comprehensive opportunity to prepare for the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Attendees will have access to resources and information from more than 30 organizations, including key community partners, such as Lee County Electric Cooperative, the U.S. Coast Guard and Lee Health. The expo will feature a presentation by Matt Devitt, chief meteorologist for WINK News, providing insights on hurricane forecasting and preparedness. In addition, there will be expert guidance from city departments, including Emergency Management, police, fire and Development Services. Educational sessions will cover evacuation zones, family emergency plans and disaster supply kits.
