The Heights Foundation has begun construction on the $42 million Heights CareerTech Institute, a career and technical education center in the Harlem Heights neighborhood of Lee County. Located at Gladiolus Drive and Pine Ridge Road, the institute will offer post-secondary training aligned with workforce needs in Southwest Florida. More than $27.75 million has been raised toward the project. The 16-month build is led by Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., with design by RG Architects. The site is currently being prepped with 150,000 yards of fill. A newly formed Industry Advisory Committee will guide curriculum development. HCTI also is seeking 501(c)(3) status to expand funding opportunities.
