Cypress Lake Middle School in south Fort Myers is being demolished after 63 years to make way for a new $100.6 million building to accommodate more students and ensure safety and security in its new design. The 150,000-square-foot building will have room for 1,000 students. Construction is expected to be completed by October 2026. The project is funded by the half-cent sales tax passed in 2018, WINK News reports.
