ECHO, an advocate for sustainable agriculture and food security, will host a week-long course on sustainable farming this summer at its North American Regional Impact Center, 17391 Durrance Road in North Fort Myers. The course, Introduction to Tropical Agriculture Development, will take place July 8-12. Workers, missionaries and volunteers interested in preparing for short to long-term involvement in international agriculture development are encouraged to participate. Topics and discussions will focus on improved food security and agricultural livelihoods for small-scale farmers in developing countries. Participants will be introduced to the complexities related to poverty and community development. Registration costs are all-inclusive and include lodging at the ECHO campus, three meals per day and the week-long course fee. Registration is $750 and closes June 30. To register, click here.
