Fans of the Florida Panthers in Southwest Florida will no longer have to rely on regional sports networks to watch the recently crowned Stanley Cup champion. The Panthers signed a multiyear agreement with Scripps Sports to locally broadcast games free in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers television markets. The games were previously broadcast on Bally Sports channels, which were no longer available on Comcast Xfinity as of May after the two companies could not reach an agreement on a new contract. Scripps Sports has yet to announce the broadcast channel in the Fort Myers market in advance of next season. Under this new agreement, The E.W. Scripps Co. can televise all locally produced Panthers preseason, regular season and first-round playoff games with distribution on cable, satellite and over-the-air television. Financial terms were not disclosed.
