Florida’s population could increase by 1.4 million by 2030, though economic headwinds may emerge by 2027, according to a new report by Florida TaxWatch. The nonpartisan group’s quarterly forecast projects slower GDP and income growth, a slight rise in unemployment, and a decline in daily net migration, from 982 in 2024 to 789 by 2030. The report cites rising insurance costs, severe weather and overall cost of living as contributing factors. Still, employment is expected to grow to 10.9 million, and tourism is expected to climb from 142.9 million visitors in 2024 to nearly 186 million in 2030.
