Fort Myers Beach Town Council agreed to potential changes to its Commercial Planned Development zoning rules for Fish Tale Marina, which remains under development after being damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022. Council is set to either approve or deny the deviation at a second public hearing tentatively scheduled for Sept. 11 or “as soon as possible” to help fast track a planned Pincher’s Restaurant and other development on the property over the next year. The change would allow the existing setup of the restaurant and deck to be maintained, zero feet from the Marina’s boat basin and 20 feet back from the portion of the site adjacent to a state-owned canal.
