Following the denial of a municipal lease agreement between the city of Fort Myers and Zanzibar restaurant for vacant retail space attached to the City of Palms parking garage at 2117 First St., City Council officially approved Monday a lease agreement for Unit E with Edison National Bank. The bank now occupies units B, C, D and E, increasing its leased area from 3,270 square feet to 4,276 square feet. Upon the February 29, 2024, lease expiration date, the new agreement will renew with a three-year term from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2027. The new monthly rental rate will be $4,290, plus sales tax and a common area maintenance monthly fee of $813.
