The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of vehicle mitigation equipment for the City of Fort Myers Police Department for an amount not to exceed $349,556. The Archer 1200 Barrier, provided by Meridian Rapid Defense Traffic Barriers, is used for anti-terrorist vehicle protection. The barriers have both unanchored and anchored stopping power able to stop vehicles traveling up to 40 mph within 7 feet of impact and are suitable for aggregate roadways and hard surfaces.
