The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency approved the addition of decorative planters around the city’s detention basin on Hendry Street and Edwards Drive. Staff met and worked with Debra Gillen, a Fort Myers resident, to identify a project that she could fund to help beautify and enhance the downtown river district. Gillen previously provided funding to replace the planter boxes on First Street at the beginning of the planter program. The cost of the planters is expected to be $47,232.
