Stevens Construction completed a new fire training facility for the city of Fort Myers at 3600 Veronica Shoemaker Blvd. Built in six months, the 3-acre campus features two concrete buildings that simulate real-world structures, including homes, stores and a car repair shop. A four-story tower allows for high-rise scenario training, such as stairwell navigation and aerial operations. The site also includes fire hydrants and a designated space for vehicle extrication exercises. Located next to Fire Station 16, the facility will serve both city firefighters and surrounding emergency agencies. All structures are engineered to withstand repeated fire, smoke and water exposure for long-term training use. The project team included Stevens Construction’s Jeff Faluade and Gina Varner, with Schenkel Shultz as architect.
