Baker Senior Center Naples received a $25,000 grant from the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation to support its Choice Food Pantry. The program expanded in 2023 and offers year-round access to fresh, nutritious food and essential supplies tailored to the medical and dietary needs of seniors. Serving Collier and southern Lee counties, the pantry provides items such as low-sodium and sugar-free foods, healthy fats, microwave-ready meals and hygiene products. With more than 33% of Collier seniors living at or below the poverty line, the center addresses rising food insecurity worsened by inflation. The center is one of just eight in Florida accredited by the National Council on Aging. All programs are run by licensed professionals and supported by more than 300 trained volunteers.
