
Brian O’Brien
Fort Myers-based HM Restaurant Group hired Brian O’Brien as executive chef to oversee operations at all four of its Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille locations, as well as Dixie Fish Co. on San Carlos Island. The move is a homecoming of sorts for O’Brien, who worked for Doc Ford’s in 2010. He has since owned and operated several restaurants specializing in fresh fish, earning a reputation for bold flavors and a commitment to quality. O’Brien plans to create new menu items while also focusing on the dishes that have made Doc Ford’s and Dixie Fish Co. favorites for locals and visitors. HM Restaurant Group is developing Bonita Fish Co. at the waterfront site formerly home to Bonita Bill’s on San Carlos Island after purchasing the property for $5.5 million earlier this year.
