A new version of Junkanoo, a Fort Myers Beach hotspot for more than 30 years before it was destroyed by Hurricane Ian, opened Wednesday in a new location. Franco Russo, who also owns Fresh Catch Bistro, moved the businesses to the former Bayfront Bistro location at Snook Bight Marina, 4761 Estero Blvd. Junkanoo Below Deck operates on the first floor while Fresh Catch Bistro will open on the second floor next week. The restaurants employ staff from the old locations and most of the former Bayfront Bistro staff, Russo said. Junkanoo Below Deck is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
